The brief story of how you met/fell in love:
We met randomly at the park; Rudy’s friend wanted to meet me but was too shy, so Rudy dragged him over to say hello. After some brief pleasantries, his friend ran off and left us in mid conversation…and here we are 19 years later! Fate truly played a part in us meeting one another.
The destination wedding decision: something you’ve always wanted or came to love?
We decided on a destination wedding because we wanted to combine a mini-vacation in a paradise setting for ourselves and our guests. We wanted the experience to be about them just as much as us.
What made you choose your resort/destination?
The Heaven section at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya offered what we wanted, “relaxed elegance with a huge splash of fun!” A friend recommended Hard Rock Resorts in general, and once we looked at the individual amenities, Riviera Maya was the right choice for us.
How did you personalize your wedding and ceremony?
Since we had already been together for 19 years, we felt that traditional “parent/s” walking us down the aisle was just not right for “us”. We decided to have our son walk us both down the aisle. Many of our guests told us that they began to cry when they saw the three of us walking down the steps together.
The funniest or most memorable moment was when…
The most memorable moment for us was coming down the stairs and seeing the love, support and emotion on the faces of our family and friends.
Three words that sum up your destination wedding experience are:
Amazing, Fun, Perfect!
Besides the wedding itself, what was your favorite part of your trip? Did you do any activities with your guests?
Our favorite part was enjoying the time with our family and friends. Seeing them having an amazing time, swimming, dancing or just relaxing, was really what made us happy. Our guests joined us for a sunset cruise the day after the wedding; viewing the sunset was just amazing.
