The brief story of how you met/fell in love:
Nathin and I met online actually, the moment we started talking I knew something was different about him. I had never felt the way I felt about him before and I knew I never wanted that feeling to change. We started dating and I instantly knew he was the one. We dated for 3 years and then I proposed and a year and half later we were in Cancun getting married!
The destination wedding decision: something you’ve always wanted or came to love?
We always wanted a destination wedding; we didn’t know where, we just knew we wanted it on the beach!
What made you choose your resort/destination?
We absolutely fell in love with the resort through email and photos that our Wedding Specialist, Cindy Watty, sent us. We were nervous coming into this but once we spoke to Cindy, everything was amazing and we knew this was the right decision.
How did you personalize your wedding and ceremony?
We had certain colors in mind, so we went with an aqua color and just added splashes of it everywhere. We also knew we wanted Jordan’s grandmother included into the wedding, she passed away last year and she was a huge part of his life, so our wedding planner reserved a front row chair for us to place a photo of Jordan’s grandmother there so she was there in spirit sitting next to Jordan’s mom.
The funniest or most memorable moment was when…
We had several memorable moments, however, the funniest moment would have to be the end of the wedding when we were drinking the champagne they gave us. As we walked down the aisle after our first kiss, I took a sip of the champagne and Nathin pretty much chugged his. My face was priceless and luckily the moment was captured in a photo.
Three words that sum up your destination wedding experience are:
Romantic, Memorable, Perfect.
Besides the wedding itself, what was your favorite part of your trip? Did you do any activities with your guests?
Besides the wedding we went and got a couples massage, which was so relaxing and exactly what we needed. We also enjoyed the foam party in the pool and all of the events they hosted poolside, such an amazing staff at this resort!
If you could travel anywhere for your one year anniversary, it would be to:
Paris, France; we’ve both always wanted to go and having the opportunity to go would be a dream come true; it would also be the perfect last vacation before we become parents next year.
Your biggest piece of advice to couples planning a destination wedding would be:
Go for it! This is your day, make it what YOU want, not what your guests want! Be true to you and everything else will fall into place.
