Creating your destination wedding playlist:
If music be the food of love, play on! Your wedding day should have a soundtrack that’s just as awesome as your marriage will be. Here are a few tips for picking the perfect destination wedding playlist for each moment that takes you from “I will” to “I do!”
Getting ready with your wedding party:
Music for this should be fun and upbeat. You want something that will relax and invigorate you at the same time. A few great choices are “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, “The Shoop Shoop Song” by Betty Everett, and “The Way you Make me Feel” by Michael Jackson.
Ceremony:
You’ll want something a bit more traditional for walking down the aisle, but not anything that will put your guests to sleep! Think about your wedding theme and destination as well; if you’re having a tropical Hawaiian beach celebration, you might want to play a ukulele cover of “Somewhere over the Rainbow,” or maybe if you’re in a Scottish Castle you could play your favorite rendition of “Wild Mountain Thyme.”
First dance:
You’ll want to make sure that your first song dance expresses your unique relationship and has a beat that’s easily to follow. Some lovely options are “Everything” by Michael Buble, “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” by Elvis Presley, or “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole.
Cutting the cake:
Some sweet tunes should accompany your sweet tooth! Look for a song that will make you smile and enjoy the moment together; perhaps one that brings back nostalgic memories. What about “How Sweet it is (to be loved by you)” by James Taylor, “This Will Be (an everlasting love)” by Natalie Cole, or “Accidentally in Love” by Counting Crows.
